Top 10 reusable bags, Cath Kidston included

I got a bit bored of the whole "I'm Not A Plastic Bag" craze and everyone saying that Anya Hindmarch was the Green God's gift to the world a few years back. And I'm slightly apprehensive that the launch of Cath Kidston's bag in Tesco today might turn into a déjà vu.

Saying 'yes, please' to plastic bags in the shops is not my thing either, though -- I'm all for reusable shopping bags. Especially when they're gorgeous and practical.

And I give that to Tesco and Cath Kidston -- the two bags they're launching today are gorgeous and practical. They're a typical Cath Kidston design and made from 100 per cent recycled plastic -- old plastic bottles to be exact. They cost £3.50 each with 50p going to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Four new designs will be launched over the next six months.

These bags are wonderful. I have a few and they make great gifts. I was a little quizzical about them not being made from recycled polyester but after doing some research I found out that is uses more energy to recycle polyester therefor making it no more environmentally friendly. It is all about the re-usability of the product!!

My kids love them too. Great for sports gear, going to the beach, library books and getting them into the RU-USE mind frame!

Love them!

I personally like the ChicoBag. It stuffs into a pouch so it fits in your pocket. ChicoBags are the best bag on the market. I can't believe they are not in the top 10. Can someone explain this to me?

I love the Envirosax designs. Have you seen the reusable bags designed by the Year 4 children at the Fairfield Preparatory School in Leicestershire? They're awesome. You can see them on www.littlefolk.co.uk

LOVE YOUR WEBSITE! I have also started using reusable bags. I have found ityse.com to have the most durable ones around. They are easy to use and I love the selection of colors. I was on the website and found out the prisoners make them as part of the rehab.
You need to check them out!

I have the flowery version of this bag. Out of the twenty or so reusable bags I own, this is by far and away my favourite. It's just the right size, it looks gorgeous, it has green creds in all the right places, some of the money goes to charity - what's not to love? :D

The flowery version of the Cath Kidson at Tesco one is what I meant. ;oP

Pinnacle Journey 1.0 2008
Cheap and cheerful -- the Journey hits the value bullseye. And doesn't end up a horrible compromise in doing so.
Mezzo d-10
Too costly, particularly compared to its d-9 sibling. But despite that, this is the state-of-the-art for folding bikes -- fast, light, practical.
Puma Glow Rider
The emperor's new bicycle -- all marketing and no trousers. Over-expensive, handles and folds poorly, doesn't glow well enough, and is stealable despite the weird cable-cum-downtube.
Weleda Edelweiss Sun Lotion SPF 15
It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product
LG 32LG5000
Stylish and with good performance, this is a nice TV, especially at just over £400 -- but the high energy use is a turn off
